Prof. Patrice Nordmann (b.12/02/60, French citizen) is Chair of Microbiology, Dept of Medicine, and head of the Emerging Antibiotic Resistance Unit and of the Foreign Research Unit INSERM (Paris, France) at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) and Chef Adjoint at the Institute of Microbiology, Universtiy hospital Center and University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He owns MD and PhD degrees from the University of Paris in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. He has been the Chief of the Dept of Medical Microbiology (hospital Bicêtre, Paris) and Professor of Microbiology at the South-Paris University from 1994 to 2013. He is co-author of more than 652 peer-reviewed publications (h factor=111). His research focuses on the emerging antibiotic resistance traits in gram negative bacteria from fundamental genetics to biochemistry and clinical applications. He has been the recipient of several international awards including the Thomson Reuters ISI Awards 2015 and in 2016 (1% most cited scientific papers covering all scientific disciplines).
