Marie-Cécile Ploy, 51 year-old, is PharmD, PhD at the University of Limoges in France. She did her PhD in the laboratory of Patrice Courvalin at the Pasteur Institute in Paris. She spent 1 year in 2004 as post-doc at the Pasteur Institute in the laboratory of Didier Mazel. She is professor of Microbiology at the University of Limoges since 2005. She is head of the microbiology department at the Limoges university-hospital and director of the Inserm unit U1092. Her research interests focus on genetic elements involved in the dissemination of resistance with a One health approach (in clinical and environmental settings). She is also involved in many clinical trials from academic or industrial partners in infectiology and critical care. She is coordinating the European Joint Action on Antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-associated infections (EU-JAMRAI) and the French network on pneumococcus resistance. She is also involved in different scientific committees (ITMO I3M, Aviesan, antibiogram committee of the French Microbiology Society, …).
