Professor Laurent Alric is the head of Internal Medicine Unit in Digestive Diseases Department at Toulouse Universitaire Hospital. Laurent Alric completed his MD t in 1994 on hepatitis virus infections and his PhD in 2002 on the impact of macrophages and arachidonic metabolites on experimental liver disease. Laurent Alric, is research co-director for the team Mnr2i “Macrophages nuclear receptors in infection and inflammation, Pharmadev-IRD UMR152 Toulouse University France. His work has highlighted the role of several mediators involved in inflammation in experimental models or in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. Currently, Mnr2i team assess the interactions between macrophages and intestinal microbiota in Crohn disease or ulcerative colitis. Pr Laurent Alric in CHU Toulouse hospital is a pioneer of fecal microbiota transplantation. His team realized fecal microbiota transplantation for more than 20 patients with recurrent clostridium difficile infection.
